Academic Faqs
Question 1: Can I change my branch in the Second Year?
Ans: Yes, subject to availability of drop out seats in Second year, the student is given an opportunity to appear for Branch Upgradation Counseling conducted by DTE representative. The allotment is done on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in 1 year BE examination.
Question 2: What is the minimum attendance requirement?
Ans: As per RGPV norms, a student must have a minimum of 75% attendance in a subject to appear in final examination. Failure to adherence to norms will lead to detention from examinations.
Question 3: Can I repeat a subject?
Ans: As per RGPV norms students are allowed to carry subjects forward to the next semester subject to condition that a student is not allowed to carry more than 5 subjects to the next year. Also any subject of 1st and 2nd year cannot be carried forward to 3rd and 4th year respectively.
Question 4: Is there a separate fee for pursuing Finishing School courses?
Ans: Finishing School curriculum is delivered Free of Cost to the students of SAIT. Only for those programmes that are delivered by External Agencies will be charged as payable, but all such programmes are completely optional.
Question 5: Is it necessary to take Finishing School classes?
Ans: It is mandatory for students to attend all classes conducted internally for Finishing School. It is not optional.
Question 6: What is the faculty-student ratio in the institute?
Ans: To maintain highest quality standards SAIT maintains a faculty-student ratio of 1: 15.
Question 7: I’ve been allotted a Faculty Mentor. How do I approach the mentorship programme?
Ans: The Mentors have been allotted to monitor, guide, counsel and assist you in achieving your academic objectives. All matters related to academics can be and should be freely discussed with your faculty mentor.
Question 8: When are the classes held?
Ans: Classes are held Monday-Saturday in two shifts, i.e. from 8:00 am -2:30 pm and 10:00 am- 4:30 pm for various batches of engineering.
Question 9: In which semester does the placement start?
Ans: Placement processes begin in the last year of Engineering.
Question 10: Does the college provide placement assistance?
Ans: College has a dedicated Training & Placement Cell that works under the Industry Interface Development Centre (IIDC) to provide maximum placement opportunities to its students.
Question 11: How important is academic performance in placement process?
Ans: Academics play a very important role in the placement process. Most of the companies short list candidates based on academic performance. Some companies have a criterion of a minimum 60% for appearing in their tests.
Question 12: Is there any particular office timings for the students to meet the faculties personally in case of any difficulty in the subject?
Ans: The studentsare free to contact the faculties at any time during the college hours for any queries that they may have.
Question 13: How can I know about the current research work going on in my Department?
Ans: All the faculties are involved in research work of some or the other kind. All students keen to pursue their research interests should personally meet faculties or their departments regarding the same.
Question 14: If I have a research idea, whom should I meet?
Ans: The faculty working in that particular area is the best person to guide you in your initiative.
